As a student, one always dreams of working in an industry on one’s own choice. You have chosen information Technology with networking as a specialization. Large reputed enterprises look for personnel with experience to manage state -of –the-art IT infrastructure or they look at trainees to learn IT infrastructure management skills in the company of experienced personnel, for future implementation. This is primarily because what one learns in the classroom is always considered theoretical when it comes to real life implementation.

For example, during an MBA summer –winter training one is more often designated as a Management Trainee and not a Manager, in the organization one serves. Another example is that of medical doctors, who serve under the supervision of senior doctors, during internship, before actually prescribing medicine or performing an operation, on their own.

Both examples demonstrate the need for practical exposure to organizational work culture, processes and policies along with practical implementation of the curriculum learnt in real time environment under the guidance of experienced personnel. On Job Training primarily refers to this part of your learning curve which makes you “Industry Ready” either during or after your lab training.
